Clown Loach tank

I’m still fairly new in the hobby but I do want to remark that I’m pretty proud of myself. If I can still keep my humility and say that there are so many people in Fish Lore who have forgotten more than I even know about fish keeping. I am grateful to those I’ve learned from and the value you all bring. But here is a little bit I’d like to brag on myself.
I established my tank with eco-something volcanic pebble substrate for plants and then capped it with tan pool sand. Over the course of a few months the volcanic pebbles got all stirred up and moved to the top—it didn’t look nice or natural. I was able to keep all my fish friends in the tank and remove all the old substrate; pebbles and all the old sand and replace it with brand new pool sand. Again I was able to do all this without removing all my fish or freaking them about “too” badly.

I think it looks great and I’m proud of myself for being able to do that. Here’s some pics, the last photo is a pic I had before I changed it.

8 - Clown Loaches
4 - Golden Algae Eaters
3 - Garra (Bump-heads)
24 - Silver-tipped Tetra
1 - Leopard Pleco

I can post more later if you’d like and I’d love to see some of your clown loaches.

Yes, I have two that are big, not anywhere near 12” yet but big, and all my “smaller” ones are still very hearty. The two big ones; they are Lucy and Dot.

Right now it’s just a 55 Gallon.
And before you say anything… I will be upgrading to a much bigger tank when they all start getting bigger. But I have two Aquaclear 70 both with plenty of sponge media along with bio-rings. Both of my intakes have pre-filter sponges and I have a sponge filter in the tank as well. Also an air-stone that runs 24/7 and a circulation pump that I have on most of the day and when that’s off I usually run the power head at night.

Plenty of filtration, great water quality, and very happy fish.

*Maybe you weren’t going to say

I have four tanks: 65g, 26 bowfront, 46 bowfront, and a 15 column at work. I have a mish mash of fish in them. Angelfish, gouramis, red eye tetras, zebra danios, rosy minnows, cories, etc.

Your tanks look great!
I especially love the one with the white thing in the center and the mushroom house.
That’s great looking.

I have another tank upstairs that has some glo-tetra and my rainbow shark. It’s my daughter’s tank but I obviously take care of it.
*Shark is hiding behind the temple so couldn’t get a shot in the open.
