Clown Loach Not Eating

I have had my baby clown loach for about four days now and I have not seen it eat. I tried to feed it brine shrimp but just ignored it is this because it is new and needs to settle in.

 

Do you have other clowns with it? What size tank is it in and does it have plenty of cover?

Clown loaches are large schooling fish. They love to be in big groups as they are more confident and active that way. Plus these fish will potentially reach upwards of 10in so a large tank with room for a school is needed.

 

Is this in a 10 gallon along with the others listed in your profile?

 

He just started eating literally right after I posted the thread and I do know loaches can get big and need a large tank and am getting a larger one pretty soon but he is still pretty small (2 inches) so I think he is fine in a ten for a little while, I could not get a school because the store only had two.

 

Pictures are crucial to giving an opinion on a fish.

It doesn't make much sense to know they need the company of their own kind but only buy one of the two available.

They will usually take live bloodworms in my experience. If not they are too far gone I guess.

I realize now I should have grabbed the other one since they are hard to find were I live but I could probably ask my lfs if they could order me some.

 

Its a big and long commitment!
