Cloudy Water/

Good day all. I have a question regarding my new tank that developed a c

loudy water effect after adding gravel, decorations and artificial plants. All where fully washed and rinsed prior to placing with no soap/additives used. No fish introduced yet to begin nitrogen cycle. Been running 4 days now and the residue/ cloudyness has been going for 24hrs. Any word of advice will help. Thank you.

I have an Aqua Japan AJ-60, with Ceramic Bio Media and filter sponge, 24g with a 216GPH rated pump. I used the initial AmQuel Plus, NovaAqua Plus, Stress Zyme. I think I overused the Stress Zyme when adding rocks. I did a quick surface skiming and 10% water change. Using water filtered water through a Zero filter and added the ammonia remover. This is how it looks like now. Can you still be able to tell what went wrong? Its been over 20 years that I am getting back into the hobby and this is the first time I use this type of set-up and never seen this happen. Thank you once again.

 

It doesn't look cloudy in your recent pics but if it's still cloudy, it's possibly a bacteria bloom which should go away on its own.

Also, if you haven't introduced an ammonia source, I'm afraid the Stress Zyme you've added would have been wasted since the bacteria would have died off. If you're going to do a fishless cycle, I'd use pure ammonia to cycle the tank. Do you have a test kit?

 

I am picking up the Master Test Kit this afternoon. I have never done a fishless cycle, but will consider it once I read up on the rest of the threads posted here. Thank you.
