Setting up a new 10 gallon, main aim is to turn it into a heavily planted Betta tank. However, it now looks like a muddy biotape.
I've used this aquasoil from a brand called HELP (Japanese brand that seems to offer an ADA Amazonia alternative). Its not bee pre-washed as per the pack instructions but now the water is cloudy and powdery. (It is not bacterial bloom or algae, but fine particles such as soil, peat flating around) They did warn some cloudiness but it should go away in a day. But its been 1 week. I did a few water changes, but each time I plant something even with extra care using tweezers, its like a dynamite explosion in the water.
Am I doing anything wrong here? Did anyone experience it? And did it go away eventually?
I can't line another layer of gravel because i've already used it for foundation. Im already running an activated charcoal. HEre's a picture of it.
Most important question is- is this bad for my plants (wisteria, sprite, dwarf grass, anubias)? I can see those with bigger leaves carrying those soil particles on them.
