Cloudy Tank No Fish

It’s 12am and I’m freaking out I’m supposed to get my first Betta Fish in like 10 hours and my tank is cloudy. I really don’t want to put off getting my fish if I don’t have to.

My tank is the: imagitarum 3.7 gallon pro deluxe freshwater aquarium
I took my water in for testing and they said it was all good that my levels are perfect for a new tank. I use Tetra SafeStart plus.

Any ideas on what caused this or how to fix it?

It's probably a bacterial bloom.
Have you been adding a source of ammonia along with the tss?
What are the actual numbers for ammonia, nitrite and nitrate?

No just the tss. The store worker didn’t give me any numbers but said that there is basically nothing in there and it’s good before testing my sisters water and saying the same thing.

Ok so fish create constantly ammonia which is toxic to them. The reason we cycle tanks before adding them is to grow the bacteria that 'eats' the ammonia and turns it into toxic nitrite and the bacteria that 'eats' the nitrite and turns it into less toxic nitrate. So the first lot of bacteria lives off ammonia and needs a constant source of ammonia to survive.

Without a source of ammonia, the bacteria you put in will have just died.

Usually an uncycled tank with no fish or ammonia added will have 0 ammonia, 0 nitrite and 0 nitrate. This is safe for fish which is why the store will have told you your levels are fine however it soon becomes very dangerous as the ammonia builds up.
A cycled tank will have 0 ammonia, 0 nitrite and some nitrates. But this reading alone does not mean your tank is cycled since some people (like me) have nitrate in their tap water. You know your tank is cycled when you can dose 2ppm of ammonia and when you test the water 24hours later you have 0 ammonia and nitrites and some nitrates.

Cycling a tank usually takes around 6-8 weeks but can be quicker or slower.

Ok, thank you so much. My sister saw me and told me that she turned my filter all the way down, could this play a part of it?
