Older threads are sometimes closed. Often members answer the questions and it just keeps things up to date.

Closed threads are old. Look at the post dates.

Welcome to Fishlore.

Threads automatically close when no activity occurs for several months; or when an item is offered for trade or for sale and is no longer available.

Thread has been moved from the Red Tailed Sharks forum to the Using the Forum forum.

I find the best way to cruise the forum is to use the New Posts tab, you'd be surprised how many threads are going at once...

Like folks above have said, the closed threads are mostly old. Even if you could respond to them, you probably wouldn't want to, since it's been at least six months since they were started.

You can close it yourself. Look at the top of the thread for "Thread Tools" and click on that, choose "Close Thread" and ta-da!

Except generally you don't want to close threads. You may be done with it, but someone else may have a further question on the topic.
Just leave them be, and they'll close themselves.
