Hi all,

Just a quick non fish related question
I got a new laptop for Christmas. I'm in the process of transferring all my data from my old one to the new one. So far so good, I'm presently importing over 2,000 photos. Next is my music and documents. Fun stuff...

I'm giving my sister my old laptop as a hand-me-down. Anyone have any tips for making it run "like new" again? The laptop is 5 years old and still runs great, I just want to give it a fresh start before I give it to her. How do I do a complete software reset? It's just a tad sluggish at the moment (which is sort of expected, I mean it's 5 years old and loaded with data).

Any tips or recommendations would be greatly appreciated!

My old one is a late 2007 MacBook and my new one is a MacBook Pro.

Thanks anyway! I upgraded the OS to mountain lion so I think the instructions may be slightly different (no disc to reset?).

Thanks again

Ha! I figured it out. It's running OSX Leopard (original OS) again but that's no biggie. My sister isn't picky. It's definitely speedier than before I did a hard reset

You have no idea! She's quite grateful since hers was super old and on it's last leg.

I kidna miss my MBP but I love my mini.
