So I can't find this topic and kinda need to know this. My Petco apparently has a snail infestation in their plant only tank. The Aquatic Specialist was surprised and told me he would let everyone else know. But that's cool. I just need to do I get them off? I remember reading about a peroxide dip? That's just household hydrogen peroxide right? If so how do I accomplish such a thing?

I think we need a FAQ section for all sections! :D

Info from this forum - 3 tablespoons of alum per gallon of water'; let the plants soak for 4-6 hours or overnight. Rinse the plants off well before putting in the tank. (Alum can be found in supermarket spice section, or try a drugstore.)

Never even heard of Alum, but I don't have the money to go buy another thing. Is there anything that uses household objects, ie hydrogen peroxide, bleach, etc. to clear the snails?

Snails don't much bother me, especially since loaches love them. I just don't want a surplus population. Also need suggestions on how to clean them of the algae they have on them, unless that would be ok.

Turns out there weren't any snails on the plants I got. But this is good info to know for future reference! Thanks all!
