My new betta has this weird clear sac hanging from his pelvic fin. Its definitely not poop, he poops normally and this isnt attached to his body at all just his fin. Doesnt seem to bother him, he eats great, super active, i have IAL in his quarantine tank which he makes bubble nests under. Any ideas of what this could be?

My very first betta had something similar because he would prefer to lay on top of the heater and his fins would get tiny bubbles I assume from burns. They were much smaller though.

I honestly have no idea. My best guess would be it's an egg sac from some kind of external parasite or maybe a tumor. Although I've never seen a tumor on a fish's fins.

It could be some poop that he's having trouble pushing out. If have some daphnia, feed him some of that. It's great for constipation. If you don't, feed him a blanched and de-shelled pea. It can't compete with daphnia when it comes to constipation, but it might do something.

If it’s white and clear, it’s probably parasites. If it’s just brown, it’s probably constipation.

Now that I think about it, this sounds like anchor worms. I would treat the tank for parasites.

I've never seen anything quite like that. Maybe use tweezers to pull it off.
Worst case scenarios, nasty parasite or viral tumor.
