Cleaninig my tank

It has been about a week or so since my tank has been cycled would it be ok to do a gravel vac in my tank or should I only do part of the gravel and then next time do the other half? Thanks a bunch.

 

From advice I've received lately on similar questions, I would say only ever do part of the gravel, even in an established tank.

I do 1/3 per week....Just to be safe.

Also, try not to do tank maintenance and gravel vacuuming at the same time. You could very well cause a minI cycle and throw your tank into a tizzy....Not to mention over stress your fish.

what do you mean by tank maint vs gravel vac? I would think that gravel vac is tank maint?

 

Cleaning filter tubes, scrubbing algae, pruning plants, cleaning decor, etc.....

 

I have never in my life scrubbed algae. Please don't tell me that's another one on my list. I guess am lucky as I've got an algae eater in each tank?

 

I've got algae that otos won't eat. They won't eat everything...I've also got brush algae that nothing will eat.....

 

Oh, that sounds annoying. I'll keep my eyes peeled.
