Cleaning up after a fish TB infection

So since I had a hard time getting a diagnosis I'm going to treat it as if it is fish tb. I need to do something about this before it gets worse somehow.

so this is what I did:
  • I removed the 2 remaining gold cloud minnows (one died today)
  • I cleaned my 5.5 gallon quarantine, set up the sponge filter (with a piece of the old filter media inside) and the heater (at 75°).
  • I put 75% old aquarium water in and 25% new water treated with stress coat and a mild antimicrobial medication (those are my staple additives for water changes in all my tanks)
  • I put my java moss and drift wood in there to make it more comfy
I'm going to put my remaining kuhlI loaches into this tank as a permanent quarantine. I love those fish and yes I know they should be in a bigger tank but this is all I have.

Now my question is: if I clean my plants very thoroughly will I be able to use them when I start up my tank again with healthy fish? Would they carry the disease somehow into the new aquarium?

I would not use old water, there's nothing good in it and possibly something very bad. I would fill the tank with entirely new water treated with Prime.

What is the anti-microbial you added?

You might want to consider a bleach dip for your plants

I added the old water bc kuhlis are very sensitive to water change and I didnt want them more stressed than they already are I'm gonna do water changes daily until I feel like the water is clean, and the brand is AP pro Aquari-sol

Ah, it's more anti-parasitic than anything. Whew! I was worried it would harm your BB

That water change makes sense, though in future you may find it easier to put the kuhlis in a temporary tank or bucket with their old water and drip-acclimate them to the new water. Might take a couple of hours but then you don't have to worry about transferring anything with the water to the new tank
