Cleaning Oscar tank

Hi All I am new to this site and still learning about Oscars .
I have just re-housed my Oscar from a ( too small ) 150 ltr tank he shared with Several peacocks into a 300 ltr tank.
At the same time I introduced a same sized Oscar tank mate .. about 7 inch
Previous cleaning was done via a gravity suction cleaner which also aided water changes.
The new tank bed is fine gravel which the poo sits on top , suction does not really suck it up efficiently .
Any suggestions or tools available for this please .
P.s the Oscars are doing fine together in fact they are rarely apart which , I hope ,is a good sign..

I think that a bigger siphon would help. BTW welcome to the forum! Can you link to the cleaner you are using currently using so I can recommend another one?
