It shouldn’t do as long as you just give them a rinse in some old tank water. When I clean mine I just give them a quick rinse and squeeze out - they don’t need to be back to the condition they were in when they were new.

In short:
- Only clean biomedia (sponge and rings) when the filter is almost clogged.
- Squeezing out the sponge 1-2x in tankwater in a bucket is enough.
- Cleaning rings and thoroughly rinsing the sponges doesn't kill bacteria but removes a majority which then are lost.

I just rinse some ...is it k???not thoroughly
I just want to know.do anybody has experience like spike of amonia or nitrite after filter cleaning??

It will have to be ok, because what's done is done.

I would estimate next time you have to clean the filter media will be in 2-3 months. I also do this only every 6-10 weeks.

Tmro I'm adding shrimp??

I would actually wait another week and monitor the water quality to make sure all is well.
