I'm am planning on getting a 8gallon nano tank with the built in filter in the tank. It shows evidence of being a saltwater tank (in pictures). When I pick it up I'll know for sure.

What should my cleaning procedure be for me to use it for a planted freshwater shrimp tank?

Or is it too much of a hassle to change over this type of set up.

Is it a used tank, or is a new tank that is being advertised as a salt water tank? If it is new, you will have no problems at all. If it is used, you will want to use white wine vinegar mixed with water and soak all parts of the tank. Then rinse and repeat twice or so.

It's a used tank. They didn't say what it was.
