Cleaner Animals for 9.2 Gal Tank

Hi,

Which species of algae cleaners can I put in my 27.5x24.5x38 (cm) 34.9L/9.2Gal tank?
Whether it be vertebrate or invertebrate?

 

Nerite snails & shrimp would be the best options for your tank size imo

 

A couple of nerite snails would do well in that tank size.

 

Yep agree with both you guys. I personally would do shrimp because there are so many different types. Like blue velvets, I like those... Amano shrimp are neat as well.

 

Any other snail types or verbetrates?

 

What do you have in there right now? What do you want them to clean? You're the best clean up crew!

 

I have Neon Tetra, Cardinal Tetra, Zebra Danios, Platys, Molly Mix, and a Glass Catfish.
Today I gave my Pleco for adoption to someone since they can reach that massive size of 2 feet. So I want to add a new cleaner fish into my tank.
I'd like to know if there are also fish/verbetrates I can add, or other types of snail to fit my tank size.

 

Hate to brake it to you... But your tank is extremely overstocked. I'm not a stocking expert, so I let someone better at stocking take over, but I wouldn't add anything right now.

 

The only thing in your tank that MIGHT do okay in the long term is the platy. Everything else needs a 30" long tank or more. So, for now, don't add anything until you figure out a stock plan.

But I want to know which other cleaner species I can put, considering the tank size and other fish species (I don't know which will remain after restocking)

 

Honestly in that tank size, I think you can only do shrimp and snails, there's tons of variety out there.

I don't think so, but I'm by no means no a lot about shrimp. But I forgot to mention, I'd only get the small shrimp, like don't get a bamboo, those guys need good circulation and most of the time 10gs can't provide that.

 

Small nerites will work.

 

Nerite snails, dwarf shrimp (neocardinia types, like red cherry shrimp), ghost shrimp, and Amano shrimp are about the only things I would feel comfortable adding to a tank that size. It's extremely important that you not add anything until you have rehomed the fish that aren't suitable for your tank. Invertebrates can be very sensitive to poor water quality.
