Clean-up Crew For Dwarf Puffers?

I have 2 dwarf puffers in a planted 10 gallon and every few day I'm having to vacuum the sand to get all the uneaten blood worms. Are there any fish or anything that are compatible with DPs in a 10 gallon?

you could get snails, breed them in another tank and put them in with the DP the DP will eventually eat them though. I have heard some people say they leave larger snails alone so maybe a couple good sized ramshorn and let them breed in with the DP.

I have a 1 gallon dedicated to mts for puffer food, but they get eaten quickly, even the ones around 1" long, after putting them in the tank. Maybe I need to put more in at once. Good idea though.

Use a turkey baster to spot clean.

Anything else you put in there will be murdered eventually.

What about the hanging baskets, have you tried those? I'm not sure that puffer fish would use them but I know they have worked well for me with cichlids who hated anything else in their tanks.

I'll try that, gotta get/make some first

salera quick, off-topic question, I've been looking into getting a cichlid(s), have any recommendations for a 29 gallon?

The only ones I've kept in a smaller tank are blue rams. Green terrors are my personal favorite but they need a bigger tank. I think most types of dwarf cichlids would be fine. Apistos are fairly docile from what I know but the only Dwarf's I have kept personally are blue rams

Some dwarf puffers won't attack shrimp, so maybe try adding a few ghost shrimp in the tank and see how it goes.

I tried that and the shrimp started disappearing 1 by 1 a few days after I got them. They are 4/$1 at my lfs so I guess I can try again though.
