Clamped fins on red dragon

I ordered 3 betta fish from a local breeder. They were sent overnight delivery to me. They arrived the next morning, when I was at work and was acclimated to the tank by my mother-in-law and oldest son. They had strict instructions on what to do. When I returned home from work 2 of the bettas were lethargic and had clamped fins. The tanks for them are cycled and heated and the water parameters are all good. I made sure before I ordered. Upon seeing the 2 laying on the ground, I added cattapa leaves to their tanks and turned out the lights. The next morning the one was looking better. He was more active and swimming and wasn't clamped anymore. Two days after arriving, he was back to normal, active and in good health.

The red dragon had the exact same treatment, but he still has clamped fins. I noticed it flicking against plants and is treating for parasites. He is active, eating well and has lots of plants in his tank. He is also alone in his tank. Is there anything else I can do to help help him?

Just a bath in aquarium salt probably isn't enough. I know you said you have live plants in there - can you pull them out temporarily to actually treat the tank with aquarium salt properly? It needs time to work that a bath won't accomplish.

Turn the heat up to about 86°F and do in-tank aquarium salt treatment if you can.

Have you checked him for velvet?

I have checked for velvet, i dont see anything. I will try the salt bath. How much salt should I add and for how long?

No, I'm saying just a salt bath won't be effective. Aquarium salt needs to be added to the water he is living in 24/7. But I'd take a real hard look for velvet again, going to be pretty difficult to see on a white based fish...
