Circulation Pump For 37 Gallon Aquarium

Hello everyone,

I recently been looking in to a Hydro Nano Circulation pump (240gph) to put in my 37 gallon aquarium. I am planning to buy it however don’t really know where to place it. I’m looking for a good flow going to the back of the tank where all the poop and debris are piling up. Also, flow to the dead stop in the right side of the tank where the Anubias is catching all the poop and now starting to get algae. Moreover also good water movement on top. I am planning to inject CO2 so a good flow in the aquarium is beneficial to keeping the plants clean and without algae. Here’s a photo of my tank, I would love opinions to where to place it that fits what I’m looking for.

 

If it was me, I would have it either top right pointing down, or bottom right pointing up... and from there, see how the flow works in your setup and tweak if needed.

Addition of a circulation pump really depends on tank to tank basis, so just play around with positioning and orientation until you get your desired outcome.

 

Are you saving the poop for some reason? I would think if you have poop flying around you might want to vacuum your medium.

 

Have you thought about a second filter? My dead spots were taken care of just by running dual HOBs.

The poop settles to the back of the tank where it’s hard to vacuum up. I want flow that will left up the poop to go in my filter

I was thinking about that, however I rather stick with circulation pump due to the fact that I could get 2 or more pump with the price of one HOB filter
