I have a 75 gallon with 24 tiger barbs and 2 fire mouths. I have no green algae but I have diatoms on everything. I scrub at every water change. I am looking for an assistance clean up crew. I know I still have to do my part. I was thinking amano shrimp. no experience with shrimp or their compatibility. I know there is nerite's, I always hear about spikes in water parameters. if I have one thing going, it is that my water quality has been great and stable from day one. other than diatoms. so I don't want to change that. cherry's look awesome but I think their size would sure make them little red scrumptious snacks. any help is appreciated.

Not sure about amano, but cherry will get sucked up by all the fish you mentioned as you suspected.
of course, a single bn could fix it too.

didn't know that. they will eat diatoms from flat rocks? you think they will be fine with fire mouths and tiger barbs?

I have 2 amano shrimps in a community tank including 2 bolivian rams and they aren't bothered at all.

Mine live with barbs and firemouths, but if you want shrimp you could try that too.
