Cichlid is bullied by the other fishes

My cichlid has been staying low for 3 days now and has not eaten a single pellet. The moment he moves a little he is being chased by blue electric hap, parrot fish, severum and another fish of his breed( I don't know the breed but the one who sold it to me said it was a "red cuttack?")
I think I see his fin nipped. I spoke to the seller but he told me not to worry since aggression is common among cichlids but I don't think this is normal. I also don't think compatibility is an issue since the other fish of the same breed is also chasing him. I am quite concerned about him. Please help asap

welcome and that fish looks like a african cichlid so I think the problem lies in that they are not native and the other same species fish is bullying this one becasue there is nobody else to bully since you don't have more of them. I think the best option is to return them

Ohnoo! Are you sure there is nothing else I can do?

I'm not a expert on this but I'm not 100% sure it is a african cichlid so hopefully someone else can chime in.

Also, how large is your tank?

Infact a few weeks back they were playing together and were quite happy! This is a lil too sudden

It's about 50-55 l

Another factor that may be a play is that the tank has too little space for all of those because all of the fish you listed are known to be territorial

50-55 liters?! I would suggest rehoming them or getting a larger tank

I am pretty new to this and the seller said that the tank size would be enough for them

Sadly, the seller isn't right. Often they just try to sell you things to make a profit.

so 50 liters correct?

Yes

Ok, so in that case 50 liters is unfortunately too small for any of those fish. If you were to keep all those fish together I would say a reasonable tank size is 220 liters

So these fish are in a 15 gallon tank? Far too small for one of those fish. I would re-home all of them or set up another tank.

I will do something right away

Is there anything I can do for the poor guy in the meantime

I also feel that the seller recommended less food for them since they always seem hungry....

Unfortunately in a tank that size and no other tanks to put him in you can’t do much. You may want to take him back to where you bought him...

I can maybe put him in a transparent bucket to save him from the bullying?

Actually if you can go to a shop where you can buy a plastic tote, maybe 40 liters is ok and you can put it in there for the time being

How big is it?

30 l

I’d advise against that. Unless it is a very large bucket and you have at the minimum an air stone to put in and he won’t be in there very long at all. Essentially long enough to take him back to t he store

I believe the pictured fish is an OB Peacock, an established African Cichlid hybrid. They grow to about 5" inches.
A certain amount of aggression is normal, but when body damage occurs adjustments need to be made.
Typically the addition of strategically placed rocks or other decor, set up in such a way as to provide cover & concealment is the best adjustment.

Please don’t ignore the fact that their current tank is FAR too small for even one of those fish
