Chronic Fin Rot?

My betta had fin rot 6 months ago. It seemed to be healing, but his fins weren’t really growing back. Then yesterday, I noticed he had fin rot again


I’m still waiting on the IAL I ordered, I’m doing frequent 25% water changes, and I was wondering if there might be something else I should be doing. I have Seachem Stessguard and aquarium salt I could use.

I was thinking of adding salt to the tank. I’ve used salt in his tank before (he lost some scales) and it did seem very beneficial for him.
He doesn’t have any tank mates and all my plants are tolerant of salt. I don’t want to do a salt bath. Last time I did, his fins seemed to worsen.

Maybe I should try different medications? Any suggestions would be really helpful.

I was doing 10% daily water changes last week, but I was told to maybe try 25% water changes every 1-2 days.
The tank temperature is about 79°F.
Other water parameters:
Ammonia - 0 ppm
Nitrites - 0 ppm
Nitrates - 5-10 ppm

That sounds perfect for a Betta. I agree with the bigger WC to start with. You warm the water to tank level, correct?
