Chiller + Fluval Canister Filter?

Larry O'Donnell

Hello all,

As I get closer and closer to my new 75 gallon Hillstream tank being completed, it looks like I am going to have to install a chiller for the tank.

I've seen conflicting reports that you can just have the chiller on the outflow line of the filter. The tank is already full of hardware and I really don't want to put another pump and separate outflow system into the tank if I don't have to.

Will a 1/4 HP Chiller work combined with a Fluval 406? Will I have enough pressure? Too much? Any other issues?

Is a separate plugin regulator the best way to make sure that the systems don't fight each other?

I am looking at this chiller

to couple with this filter

Thanks for your help in advance!
