HI Michelle, I just left you another message over there and didn't get the message through my thick head that you were moving over here for good. I did not recognize the name. I am glad to welcome you here and it has been fun speaking to you both places. I think I covered all the questions in the message I sent over in the putfile message.

I hope that you can get a gorgeous betta from one of the breeders you found and they can help you get the water problems taken care of. I got to thinking after I wrote to you and they have to deal with the problem every day in order to raise their stock so it would be only correct of them to explain to you if you purchase or are inquiring on purchasing one of their fish to let you know what the process is and how much it will take to fix the water situation to keep your fish safe and happy. If they are not willing to do that then you do not want to buy from them as they do not care about their fish very much. Most breeders do care about their fish very much though as they are their livelihood. You can expect to pay a bit more for a fish from a breeder than you would from a pet store as the fish you get from a breeder will be first quality and the ones they sell to the petstores will be the ones they have culled from the spawning or the older ones that are too old for them to breed any more.

Rose I learnt everything I know from this site. Decided last summer to try to have a tropical tank, which everyone here found to be odd as I had previously had a terrible phobia of fish that appeared out of the blue after a youth filled with goldfish!

Having no knowledge of tropicals I searched the net and eventually came across Fishlore and was hooked. Researched everything on here before buying a tank! So I think this site is the best!! Set tank up eventually and after weeks of bubble watching bought my darling Cherry Barbs and here I am now!!

I thank you for that fantastic email on putfile, a huge help. I saw some fantastic male Bettas today but I'll bide my time, all good things come to those that wait!!
