Just got a super cute bright red cherry shrimp today! My first cherry shrimp. Just wondering whst grade of cherry shrimp you guys think she is? I think she's a fire red shrimp but I'm not sure, she has an orange stripe along her body. Cant wait to get more and have them brighten up my tank!

Question for the OP. Did you only get one? I ask because they seem to do better in groups, now understand that they will reproduce like rabbits, but they also have a short life span something is the area of a year or so. Anyway just asking

Was this shrimp from your LFS? I want to get shrimp, but the best stores for them are at least an hour away. Yours is lovely and I would definitely get more if you can.

She was from a local pet shop but I am going around to all the LFS around and in the city next to me to find more!

They don’t care about the color, but if they breed the offspring may have less-intense colors.

Let me say that it’s not a question of if they will breed it’s when and you will end up with mostly a colorless or brown colored off spring shrimp. IMO, take the blues back of take the red one back. This is of course my opinion, only. The other thought is start preparing another shrimp tank.

Good luck

I think it depends on a lot of factors, I've had blue dreams and low grade cherries breed and somehow ended up with low grade black roses and high grade carbon rilis, plus more reds and blues.
Also, since the legs aren't all red, I'm going with high grade Sakura as well.
