Cherry shrimp out of water

Is it normal for a cherry shrimp to chill out of the water? My red cherry shrimp keeps going out off the water on top of the outflow baffle sponge. Is it getting some kind of food? None have every done this before in my tank. My yellow shrimp hangs out up there but not out of the water. So strange.

Add: My water is fine, established and not the issue. ALL of the other shrimps are fine and molt normal. This shrimp is just a weirdo I think. The other 2 Rilis I got with it are normal little shrimps.

I have seen youtube videos where cherries are climbing along logs above the water in a paludarium settings.

It quite comon you'll find if you look very close that's there's a fine flow of water running over them, it works like a capillary action. Mine quite often walk over surface plants yet the body as this film of water over him

As stated above, it's nothing to worry about. In fact, one of my neighbors ordered shrimp online (before she knew I raise and sell them), and when they arrived the bag had leaked. The shrimp were still wet, and they were still alive and did fine.

I agree with the others. I’ve watched cherries climb half out of the water to forage for food. It’s bizarre and slightly unsettling as you instantly think oh no !!!! But it’s a choice and if they make it then so be it ! I guess they know what they are doing 99% of the time ;)

I now really wish I could have a shrimp brain.
