Cherry Shrimp NOT breeding?

I seem to be having trouble getting my RCS to breed. I've had them for quite some time now (some came with my endler's, then I got some from Zeez) but I've only ever seen one shrimplet. None of my females appear to be berried right now. I'm rather confused as to what might be going on, since everything I've read says that they are prolific breeders. I should be up to my elbows in RCS by now. Tank parameters are: 10 gal planted, 0 amm, 0 nitrite, 20 nitrate, 82* temp. Up until a couple days ago, I was supplementing calcium with crushed egg shells. I took them out to replace them with fresh but I forgot lol. I also had a random death the other day. Everyone was accounted for at feeding time the night before, but the next afternoon I had one dead adult female. Is there something I should be testing for in my water?

Are you able to drop their temp down? 82 is pretty high for RCS. Can you try 77?

Unfortunately I'm at the mercy of our struggling AC and can't get the temp down right now

Hm, I'm having the same problem and my temp is at 81.... Guess I should try lowering it lol

Yeah, my ChI is unheated and the AC is set at 78*. My CPDs would prefer cooler temps, but so would my kids!

Cooler temps make all the difference. What are you feeding them?

HikarI Algae Wafers and whatever bits of NLS Thera+A and HikarI Sinking Wafers they can get away from the corys and endlers lol. They also had some boiled pea a couple days ago. I'm going to be dropping in some zuchinI (sp?) after I get a chance to go shopping again. I've turned my heater down as much as I can so hopefully I can get the temp down. Our poor AC is struggling so bad, our daytime room temp has been hovering between 80-85* since last week.

Another possibility is that they are breeding, but you have other fish in your tank. Cories and elders can eat shrimplets.

I expect it to be the temperature as well.
