Cherry Shrimp guidance

HI everyone, Looking for a bit of guidance.
Last year I decided I wanted a cherry shrimp tank. My original aI'm was to let them have tank to themselves however I really struggled with the water. Most died with molting problems, so I moved the remainder into my community tank. This was fine for a while but then my female Betta developed taste for shrimp and ate almost all of them. Last Saturday when I was doing my water change I noticed the java fern detached itself from the rocks. When lifted it up I saw 5 baby shrimp, Knowing the Betta would eat them I removed her from the tank. Since Saturday I have seen so many shrimplets, everyday there is more and more; I've even seen more adults than I thought I had. I guess they are really great hiders.
The question I have is how fast do shrimp grow? The ones in the picture look too large to have been born since Saturday.

Would the shrimplets survive without eating any supplementary food? Neither the shrimp or the shrimplets eat the food I add to the tank or the spinach or courgette I add.

HI Lauryn those shrimp look close to breeding which is 5ish months. Its obvious they were hiding because of the betta, yours have survived on food you've put in for the betta and biofilm, not having the right food will have a health impact long term, are you cooking the courgette and spinach

Thanks for the response. I peeled the outer skin of the courgette, diced into around 1.5cm cubes then froze. For both the courgette and spinach I would boil for 2-3 mins let it cool then add to tank.

I get mine from Tesco, leave the skin on and remove seeds then boil for at least 5minutes it must be soft for them to pull apart, spinach you should only boil for 30seconds or you boil the goodness out, like any new food shrimp need time to come around so when you feed leave it in for 2hrs if there's no response take it out and don't feed anything for two days then try again, it may take a little time for them to come round but they will, they've got use to fending for themselves and feeding off biofilm.

Your problems are solved, richie is on your case
Mine love brocalI but don't overboil so it turns mush, I use a small 1/2 piece on a kebab squa so it doesn't fall off so easy and helps to getting it out.

Do you use the whole floret as well as the stem?

Yes, but in tiny pieces one at a time, I stick the squa in the slightly harder stem. they go for the flowers first then the stem. but usually eat most of it if population is enough.

Thank you, I'll try it this way
