So hI everyone, I was just wondering what other dwarf shrimps I could keep with dwarf cherry shrimps- I don't want them to inbreed or need different water conditions. Would blue bolt shrimp be okay? They are pricey, but I love them.

Thank you!

Sorry, but blue bolts require different water parameters than cherry shrimp.
Their gH, kH and pH requirements are too low for cherries to live in.
If you do green jade, Sakura, rili, etc any neocaridina, they will interbreed and produce wild type offspring.
Tiger shrimp, however, are a Caridina that have very similar water parameters to cherry shrimp and can coexist well. There are several different types, I can't remember them all, but tangerine tigers, OEBT, blond orange eyed, red tigers, fancy tigers may work, and super tigers.

Sure! Just be sure to research their parameters and what not. You'll want to get the API gH and kH test kit, and if you're remineralizing, the best way to test the water is with a TDS meter

I keep Amano shrimp with my cherry shrimp no problem. They are bigger and not so colourful but will not interbreed and like the same water parameters.

Hypothetically it would be possible to keep either one with the other, however, one will thrive and breed, the other will not.

Cherry shrimp do better in alkaline water with a pH of 7 or higher, GH of 6 or higher, and a KH of 4 or higher.

Blue Bolts and other Taiwan Bee Shrimp need a pH of 6.5 or lower, GH between 3 and 6, and a KH of LESS THAN 2.

However, there are Caridina species that will also thrive in the same conditions as Neocaridina. They are Amano, some species of tiger shrimp such as orange-eyed blue tigers, babaultI shrimp, and long-nosed shrimp, as well as other shrimp species such as bamboo/flower shrimp and the huge but harmless filter-feeding vampire/viper shrimp.

In my experience dwarf crayfish also get along well with cherry shrimp provided there is ample space.

EDIT: My favorite shrimp are Wine-Red Pintos.
