Cherry Barb Male/Female Ratio

    i hope to add 6 cherry barbs and i was wondering how many males and females i should buy. I was hoping to have more males.

    ideally you should have less amles, for a group of 6 I would have a maximum of 3 males, but when stocking barbs I try to follow 1 male- 2 females.

    I think the general rule with all fish is more males to females to cut aggression. I have a 1m to 2f ratio with my barbs and have no problems.

    I was talking to the aquarium guy at the fish store yesterday and he said they do better in odd number's like 3 or 5.

    I keep all of my barbs species in a close to even m/f split, with a couple extra females.
