What do I feed them can I put one in a 10 gallon for a few weeks

Why do you need to put it into a ten gallon tank for a few weeks? They get huge from what I have read and most don't have the aquarium room for their growth.

Don't do it! People in my region (PA) fish for huge channel cats. If you really want one, better invest in a pond.

They reach massive sizes very quickly. Unless youve got a massive tank that can support fish that reach sizes over 30 inches then I suggest find ita new home. 30 Inches is not full grown size.

I definitely would not get one, they require either gigantic indoor tanks/ponds or large outdoor ponds.

You can't make him eat anything. You can try different sources. I've had young eat dry so I didn't need to worry

Channel cats grow over 2 feet and where I live, fishers like to catch the biggest one

The most important thing to start off with is tank size. Then feeding them filtration. I'm not sure about in captivity but channel catfish can reach 3ft long. They will eat almost anything. I would suggest night crawlers, like ones that you find or ones you can buy for fishing bait. You'll need lots of filtration for that biomass as well.

Channel catfish can get over 2 feet long and up to 40 pounds, you sure your tank is large enough? We catch them out of rivers and ponds here in NW Florida.

Channel catfish are omnivores, if you're going to keep it then include protein in it's diet as well. Around here you catch them with catalpa moth caterpillars, chicken livers, crayfish, or even peanut butter.

What food can I feed mine like earthworms, I always feed mine live butter worms but he's unsuccessful in getting them because my Oscar eats them but he does occasionally
I fish for channel catfish a lot, I know that they love to eat Shad and other baitfish such as minnows. That fish is going to grow quickly but as long as you have a plan to either upgrade the tank size or release it into the area which it originated. Also, the catfish will not eat in front of you because it is predominantly a nocturnal fish and comes out to feed at night, that is why you most likely will see him burrowed away during the day. That reminds me, catfish need a lot of cover to hide under.
I know this thread is a few months old, so I am wondering how he has kept up since then?

Why are you keeping it in a 10 gal with an oscar and a pleco? It's cruel to all fish involved, and very selfish of you.
It's illegal in many places to release fish into natural waterways, even if they're naturally found there or you got them from there in the first place. Unless you have a very large pond yourself, rehome it. Otherwise, you're dooming it to a painful and cruel death.

Agreed!!!
All the focus has been on the catfish, which has no business in an aquarium.
But The Oscar and pleco do not belong in a 10 gallon either. That is cruel. :-( They are both giant fish.
