Changing The 150

So I've been getting my 150 ready for a overhaul currently running a fx6, fluval406, two 125g sponges, and a 10 gal sump kinda seems like over kill but had them laying around from old tanks and rather keep them cycled just incase

So the tank is going to be moderately planted with sand substrate at 80-82°f I will have some clown loaches, geophagus tapajos, and 2 plecos on the bottom maybe some Cory's that will be left over from a old incarnation of the tank ( I know 80 might be a bit high for them ) in the middle some Angel's maybe some neons can't think of anything else that will be fine also looking for some upper level fish would love discus but don't want to bump the temp up past 82

What the lighting like it might determine if you have high light loving plants or low-mod light, also no added CO2 right? sounds like its going to be fun. I know Plecos can be aggressive at each other but sounds like its probably big enough with the added plants for cover. I am sure other people will have better opinions on the fish.

Post pics of their progress. !!

When I was planning a South American build, I wanted red head tapajos.

Then because of space constraints, I had to go with a 55 gallon instead and went with African Mbuna.

One day I will get a South American tank started !

Couldn't think of any other SA to add to the tank besides Angel's would like some blue acras but I think they stay more towards the bottom and need more mid level

Have you looked into Severums ?

I was orginally considering getting a red shoulder severum and/or a red spotted severum.

Neons are more 75-78* Where Cardinal tetras look the same and are 79-82*. The thing I hate is they cost so much more.. I'm working on getting Cardinals to go with my GBR.

I don't have a issue dropping the temp back to 78 I'm sure some of the fish would like that more I usually keep my tank at 80 maybe split the difference and go 79
