How frequent have you to replace this with new ones in your filter?
Also...would guess you should not replace all at once, since this would remove all the good bacteria?

ps am talking about internal filter...

You shouldn't ever have to replace Siporax. I have some from when it first came out and its still going strong.

You can clean it by microwaving it. The heat turns the water within it to steam, which pushes the muck out (obviously clean only a little bit at a time).
