Change Of Plans For The Office...

So instead of one tank in my office, I get to have two.
Tank #1 - Solitary Betta Tank.
Tank #2 - Community Tank

Tank #1 Setup: (For my desk)
Aqueon MinI Bow 5.0 led
Finnex PF-5 or Aquaclear 20
Aqueon MinI Heater
Asian inspired decor and substrate
Penn-Plax action air rice mill
1 male paradise Halfmoon Betta

Tank #2 Setup: (On my bookcase or it’s own stand)
Aqueon 15 gallon regular rectangle tank
Aqueon deluxe full led hood
Fluval Aquaclear 50 (with AC20 or 30 impeller)
Fluval 50w heater
Replica of the dentist’s aquarium from finding Nemo.
1 male paradise Halfmoon Betta
6 harlequin Rasboras
2 zebra nerite snails
Possibly more depending on advice and research.

Anything I’m Missing or should consider? Thanks!

In your second tank the Betta + harlequin idea might not work depending on your betta’s temperament. Make sure you have a backup idea in case something goes wrong.
I also have an aquaclear 50 on my 30 gallon and tbh even the low flow option is pretty intense in there. Knowing that bettas prefer low flow, I might reconsider the filter if I were you.
Edit: if I had your choice I would go with two 10 gallons with a Betta and maybe 1-2 snails in each instead of keeping one betta+2snails in a 5 gallon. But that’s just my opinion.

I have a 3 gallon tank to move the Betta to temporarily if nessecary. I plan to put an Aquaclear 20 impeller in the Aquaclear 50, to reduce it’s flow.

I can’t fit a 10 gallon on my desk, so I plan on just a Betta in the 5 gallon, no snails.

Still can’t decide on the HOB filter for the 5 gallon build. It is currently between:
Aquaclear 20
Finnex PF-5
AZOO mignon 60 or 150
Marina SlI'm Filter S10/15

Any advise would be appreciated.

Aquaclear has lots of room for filtermedia and is 100% customizable.

I know, I Love Aquaclears. But someone told me that the flow would be too much in a 5 gallon tank.

Just get a smaller one and set it on the lowest flow. As long as you keep up with weekly water changes it should be fine.
