Ceramic rings bag broke and need to put in new filter.

I’m about to switch out my ac 70 for a penguin marineland I think and my ceramic rings bag just broke. Can I keep the filter running with them broken like this? And if I do get a new filter how should I package them to use the old media?

I think they’ll be fine. Can’t you just get a new bag to put the old media in?

 

They sell media bags for loose or bulk media. You can buy the size you need for your particular filter.

 

Yes you can absolutely keep running with them like this, provided they are not interfering with mechanical bits and pieces (like if they blocked the impeller or something like that), which does not seem to be the case here. The bag just makes sure they stay together (and makes their transport easier) is all.

Given the level of incompetence you believe exists here, I find it interesting that your posts often repeat what was already said in a previous post.

 

I have repaired torn media bags with plastic zip ties, and sometimes some needle and thread.

 

Yes they sell new media bags. All different sizes. Yes it still works without the bag just easier to clean in a bag.
