Cause Of Death

Today I saw that a guppy that I’d had for about three and a half months had died. The tank has been established for a little more than four months.

I never saw anything wrong with him prior, and I still don’t see anything wrong with the three other guppies in the tank. His body was bent at a 90 degree angle by his mid section. Anyone know what could’ve happened?

Are the guppies the only thing in the tank? I had one die in the early days but he was just laying on the bottom of the tank. The bent body is a sign of toxins in the water. How big you s your tank? What are your ammonia, nitrites, and nitrates testing at?

It’s a community tank so I also have neon tetras, a molly and a betta (btw the bettas really calm and is only aggressive to fish that are bigger than him). The three other guppies (two I got at the same time as the one that died and one I got just a couple of weeks ago) all seem fine. The tank parameters are also all good with no ammonia or nitrites.

How about nitrates? Just trying to figure this out.
