I give my cat freeze dried krill. She loves them and often follows me to the fish room just to get some.
I had another cat years ago that ate goldfish , Pepperidge Farms that is ...

I just saw this... Yes my cat loves fish food. Especially the large nls pellets that I feed to my sunfish. She will meow and literally climb up my leg to get them...

Seems like my reaction when my cat knocked over the blood worms has kicked her habit lol
I wasn't expecting it to fall so I let out a cry that scared her off lol

My female cat Summer has been begging for fish food for the last few years. I knew when I first sprinkled some flakes on her cat food to get her to eat it that it was likely a mistake and I'd be doing it for ever more.

She didn't recognise cat food as something she should be eating because she was an abandoned kitten and she survived by eating food from people's bird tables. She went crazy for a slice of bread, but that isn't really good food for cats!

Recently, however, I have been putting some effort into finding cat foods that she likes and have found three brands that have found favour with her so I haven't had to bribe her with fish food to get her to eat her cat food.

She's beautiful!
I have a cat who was abandoned as well, she was about 9 months old, and was going through her first heat, I'm guessing the family couldn't deal with her behavior and dropped her off in a catty neighborhood.

I went to the store, came home and she was meowing at the porch. I approached her slowly, since she seemed slightly aggressive the way she mewed.
Once I brought her in, there was no leaving, but quite opposite to your story, she tried to eat everything, had to do a bit of training.
She had obviously had to compete for food at one point, she was a scavenger.
She's so much better now though, her and this other foster kitten are like mother and daughter, now they just hunt birds and mice together while I'm away. Kitten catches more than momma lol

Darn blue knocked over an entire bottle of bottom feeder pellets!!!!!
The whole thing! Scattered!

It was pretty full... That's a lot of pellets to try to pick up...

These cats are burning my strings!

Doesnt surprise me. It all stinks like fish, something cats and dogs would love! I wouldnt be surprised to hear of cats rolling in it like catnip!

I had to lock my fish food up cause caramel was stealing it every chance he got and taking it under the bed with him. Mainly the algae wafers and the bug bites cause the bags crinkle and make noise and he likes things that make noice.

My cat goes nuts when I open the fish food. I know it has to do with the smell but it makes life interesting. I started storing the fish food in a drawer after keeping it in the closet.

She climbed in the closet and knocked the box with the fish stuff in it off the shelf at 5:30 am the other day. Then I heard her batting the fish food around. Lol! She's a cute trouble maker.

Anyone else have a trouble making fish food loving cat?

maybe they are smelling the fish parts in the food? I have food that has salmon, krill, shrimp etc that is pretty pungent.

Mine likes the smell too but has yet to try to get into the container & although I do have a drawer, it rarely gets put in there. My cat eats next to the fish tank so I’m thankful he still eats his dry food
He also goes outside so I think he supplements his diet with live food

My cats used to like to knock my betta pelleta off the shelf. They would often pop ooen and get pellets everywhere...finally found a way they can't really knock them around now. Though i still occasionally find a pile of fsh flakes for the community tank when i wake up in the morning.

Mine is smelly too. Gets her every time. I also have to kick her out of the room for water changes and maintenance.

She eats her dry food no problem. She also thinks she's starving if the bowl is empty or she doesn't get wet food by 5 pm.

Hahaha! On the few occasions that I left the fish food on the floor (I have some low tanks) my dogs have both eaten half the fish containers! My fault for leaving it on the floor opened! But after that she kept checking out my room for opened fish food containers. Also the smell is pungent. It stinks up my room if I forget to close it. I like, what smells like fish so much?

My dog has shown no interest in the fish tank at all or the food. If food spilled I'm pretty sure the cat would get to it first.

Maybe my dogs were part cat lol! They didn't care to look at the fish (I wish they did!) but they loved fish food haha!!! It would be a good entertainment for them if they liked to watch the fish. Funnily enough, they watched TV and very interested in Animal Planet!

I have one container of fish food that has a ton of little kitty teeth marks all over the lid! Thankfully it stayed closed and didn’t burst open and make a huge mess everywhere, but needless to say, now all the fish food stays in the closet. Does anyone find that their cats mostly ignore their actual fish completely though? When I first got fish I was somewhat concerned that our three cats would create trouble with the fish tank, but they hardly ever look at them surprisingly!

My cats think the aquariums are just giant fresh water bowls. Every great once in awhile they notice the fish and boop the side of the tank near them.

My cat thinks the tank is her own personal TV. She's not batting at the fish as much but will spend an afternoon watching it. If she could eat the fish, I'm sure she would.

My dog and cat would both beg for fish food too. The cat would eat it, get it stuck on his nose and sneeze the rest all over

All my fish food has to stay in a drawer or cabinet where the cats cant get in. Its not all my cats, but I have two that are a problem. One has chewed through the plastic container that was screwed on... amazing determination to get that food. And trust me, he aint starving!

My cat loves any fish food. He got locked in my room onetime and and ate most of a container of omega one (mainly made of fish products).
