Catching Fish In Hawaii

I know there's been a 2 year ban on commercial aquarium fishing in HI, but It says I can still catch aquarium fish for non-commercial purposes.

Does this mean I could go out and catch wild fish for aquariums? If I can, what are the limits? Which beaches/places on HI (Oahu island only) can I catch fish in? What type of net should I use? Has anyone in HI ever done this?

there was a discussion not too long ago, I believe its fine for your own personal aquarium.

I didn't read the article, but I'm pretty sure you're not catching them for commercial purposes. You'll have to look up your state's local regs for catching and keeping.

Nice! Just what type of net should I use and which are the best places to get fish?

If that's true, you may get your Lemon/Milletseed butterflyfish yet. I would try and get a smaller one though as they are more likely to adapt better to captivity rather than a full size one that is swimming with a school of them in the wild.
