Carpet plants for sand

Myyyman

So I have a tank set up next to a window with a medium light on. It has a moderately fast flow and some surface agitation. No CO2 injectors though (if anyone could give me info on those that would be appreciated). I was wondering if anyone knew of some cool carpet plants that are short and grow well on sand and dymax plant substrate (fluval stratum)? Also any mosses that grow on wood.

Stargrass and Helanthium tenellum should work.

I do like the look of stargrass, do you know how tall it gets?

It is really a stem plant. You woyld have to trim it weekly. angelcraze knows lots about it.

Thanks. Also, can you grow java moss as a carpet plant?

You CAN. Hard to keep it attached to the substrate tho.
