I'm treating fish for parasites with API General Cure (I have a different thread on that) and I had to remove carbon from the filter. I did successfully and when I turned the filters back on carbon dust immediately came out of the filter and went into the tank. Can this hurt them? The water is still pretty clear and I use the Tetra Whisper Filter Cartridges and the carbon that comes with it jt View attachment 448578

    Hey there,
I would remove the bag of carbon and rinse it under the sink until the water runs clear, I would also recommend to vacuum the substrate when the dust settles, the fish should be okay if the carbon filter is rated for your tank. Also you could add filter floss to your filter for extra fine filtration which polishes your water.

    Hope this helps,
