so ive in the last half hour made a real deep dive in L plecos. i am yet to set 29 (or 34 if i can talk parents into it) gallon tank and i would like a small pleco. ive came scros some that abosultly caught my eye. i cant afford a zebra pleco so ill setle for a l-114 or 134. i love there bright color and how they look so different from most plecos i cant choose but im leaning tourds the 114. If you have any cool pleco types to show me or anyone else that might read this thread post it cause they can be so pretty! of course advise is also apresiated

L114 will get over 9"; I would not suggest them in a 29 or 34 gallon tank on top of them being carnivorous (not predatory, they shouldn't go after fish). L134 can be up there in price as well, especially if it is being shipped overnight. Also not known for being an algae eating pleco.

Butterfly pleco (l052 or L168, picta is species name) are a smaller growing (less expensive) species, will eat algae, has a nice pattern (not as sharp as some others but definitely eye catching).
Different color morphs of bristlenose (even whole species like L183 or L181) that are quite attractive and easy to see in an aquarium.

It mainly depends on if you are wanting the pleco to have a "job" (some will eat algae, however all plecos poo a ridiculous amount so having it for the love of the fish would be best) and if you are wanting a pleco that will be out more often and is active at different times. Some plecos (like clowns) on average do not like to be seen so will dart away as soon as motion outside the tank is noticed.

The butterfly would be a good one for you to look up, they have a nice pattern and will do some algae, they generally top out around 4-5" but are more flashy looking than bristlenose (as far as coloring goes). Normally 10-20$ price range and most fish stores can order them.
