Canadian distributors

Are there any canadian freshwater fish and plant distributors that are well recommended? Particularly southern Ontario. Thanks guys!

 

AngelFins is a personal favourite of mine, although the only attempt I've made at a livestock shipment went incredibly poorly (and I blame Canada Post for what went wrong, not the store). The Plant Guy is your best bet for plants, cheap. Shrimp Fever offers great and healthy shrimp, along with shrimp-friendly nano tank fish.

As far as livestock go, I find were severely lacking... Though I'm eager to hear if other users have any Intel to offer. Cichlaholic.com doesn't often have much of what I want, but if you'ret thinking cichlids, they're your guys.

I'm from Windsor, for the record. Doesn't get more southern Ontario than that.

 

Haha I'm around London, my total selection is basically one small Big Al's and a Petsmart, which really doesn't have healthy fish at all. Thanks a ton though! I'll look into those stores for sure!

 

Yeah down here we have 2 PetSmarts, and a smattering of small LFS's that can be hit or miss. Good selections sometimes, lots of the usuals, but rarely ever exactly what I want. The local fish club largely depends on the auctions in the area, spread out anywhere from Toronto to Grand Rapids, MI.

There are some incredible fish stores around Mississauga and Guelph, plus the GTA if you're ever willing to travel for fish. Finatics, Menagerie, Discount Dragon, Aquatic Kingdom... and the Big Al's in Toronto is absolutely massive, though I haven't been to the one in London to compare.

Worth a trip once in a very long while, but you have half the distance I do to get there!

I wish I drove. I'm surrounded by great places to go and no way to get there.

 

Haha luckily I do drive, but I wouldnt want to go that far unless I knew what I wanted. Lots of work and I'd need to borrow the parents car... But I think I might try some weekend coming up! If I can get a new tank lol

 

I second the suggestion for Angelfins. I ordered my endlers from there and was very happy with the shipment! There was a small error and it was immediately corrected. Customer service is A+

I also drove in to Guelph to their actual store when I had a day off and the tanks were well maintained and clean. Not a huge selection for livestock but healthy. I also purchased my Apistos from there.

 

Awesome ill take a peek into them, not entirely sure what I'm looking for but its more variety I can get otherwise
