Can You Store An Aquarium On Its End?

I'm trying to sell a 36" long aquarium but it's going to take a while as it has a chip. I'm however strapped for space as my apartment is micro sized and tipping it on its end would decrease the footprint from 3ft to 1. So I was wondering if it would damage the tank to store it on its end while it waits to be sold?

Thanks in advance.

Should be no issue . Just place it on something smooth like cardboard for safety.

I don't think I would either...that's a lot of weight on a piece of small glass. I know with some aquariums the bottom is made of different glass like tempered so it might be able to support that weight better.

There is no issue storing it on it's end.

As long as it aint filled (with items), its fine. Many aquariums are stored like that in the store.

Yup, it'll be fine. Just store it in a place it won't get hit/damaged with something. I stored a 55gal on it's end in a storage room I rented. I filled it with an old comforter and covered it with cardboard and a blanket to keep the dust out. I placed my end tables near it so it wouldn't get hit with anything. It was stored like that for several years without issues.

Thank you everybody for your responses. However since they were mixed, I'm just going to keep it horizontal and hope I can sell it soon.
