is there a way I could diy a bigger size breeder box than what they sell? I would like to use one and I'd rather give the fish a little more space to reduce the stress :)

Sure why not? You'll need to be crafty though. I'd get the fabric at the fabric store. Tulle is probably close to the fineness of the one i have. Not sure how to make the frame itself...but mines made out of plastic

You could probably buy plastic dowels at a craft store for the frame.
