It was a little bit weird to find your picture, but I'm hosting it for you so it shows up here. I think it's a mbuna, not sure. I'm not too familiar with most cichlids yet.

If it helps it has three black spots along its body and I was if this can go into a tank with guppies?

Look up pictures of jewel cichlids on google- I'm 99% sure that's what it is. I'm going to say that it would be better not to keep these guys with guppies, but I've never tried it and am not a central american cichlid expert.

Oh, I missed the blue spots on its cheeks.

My money would be either on a Jewel or a Jack Dempsey... Both have the spots.

either way, guppies would be a snack at some point

Looks like it could be a Texas Cichlid. As others have said, no guppies with this guy.

It is a Jewel Cichlid. West African cichlid and pretty aggressive.

i agree jewel. guppies are not good with most cichlids and will get eatin.

jewels, i thought, were good with sa/ca cichlids. i've read they are not as aggressive as other africans

Not being as aggressive as other africans doesn't mean they are peaceful enough for NW cichlids. I've read the same, but always about keeping them with more aggressive NW fish.

I don't really suggest keeping them with any cichlid from the Americas. They have been known to do well with them but it still can result in a lot of aggression. Also I believe there is a significant difference in food requirements.

Okay what are fishes that are colorful like this one that can be kept with guppies? And can stand a Ph of 7.5?
