Can shrimp carry parasites that affect fish if eaten?

Hey guys
So i know shrimp don’t carry anything that can affect fish so you don’t need to quarantine them but if my fish were to eat the shrimp is there any danger to that? Can the shrimp carry parasites that affect fish if eaten? Thanks

No problem. shrimp diseases seem to be specific to shrimp. I had to look it up just now to make sure

edit: vorticella may be passed to fish but I dont think its very common

 

Not impossible but rare. I would be more concerned with the water the shrimp came with. If it came from a tank that contained fish or from a tank that was in a central filter system, I would not dump the water in the tank (generally a bad idea anyway).

 

Yes, my friend told me that he had a shrimp come in from a tank with a sick shrimp and almost all of his huge blue dream colony died
