Can my algae be pearling?

Just curious if any of you have witnessed algae pearl?
My 10 gal is heavily planted (even though only two types of plants), I've got fairly high light and DIY Co2. For the most part my plants are great and the tank looks good, the Java Moss even pearls and grows like a weed. However, the little bit of algae I have also appears to be pearling.
I mostly notice it on the heater suction cup. I've ruled out it being from other bubbles in the water because they only appear after about 6 hrs of lighting.

Should I worry about it? Or leave it be since the rest of the tank is also blooming?

Thanks for your input.

Welcome to Fishlore kayeleven!

Do you happen to have a power head, air stone or filter return near your heater? Something that might explain the bubbles?

Maybe someone else will see your posting and have a better idea.

I've watched for bubbles from my filter return which is close to the heater, but there are none. I'll post a picture later, that may help show what I'm describing.

Just like plants algae rely on photosynthisis to grow, with the by product being oxygen during the lights on periods. So yes, algae can & often does pearl.

Good morning,

I'm not familiar with the term "pearl". Is that another word for blooming?

"Pearling" refers to plants or algae producing more oxygen via photosynthesis to than is needed to saturate the water. Any excess oxygen production on top of the saturation point results in bubbles (aka "pearls") on the plants or algae.

I've seen this on the algae on my driftwood-there were some bubbles sort of inside the algae (so I knew it wasn't some something else). It was neat to see.
