Can Make Guppies Override The Sperm Inside Ththe Female From A Different Male?

I bought a female guppy who was ready to pop and in a matter of days, she gave birth.

Now I just recently bought a new male cobra guppy and wanted her to mate with him. I know female guppies can hold to sperm for 3-6 months so I was wondering if males had the ability to throw off the sperm inside the female from a different male....

Hopefully they can....if not, I hope the male survives in the next 3 month so the fries can mature and I hopefully there's a female in to mate with him.

Btw, there's another male in the tank that's atleast 2x as big as the cobra guppy so I'm guessing competition can be another issue....

When you try to line breed guppies typically you start with a virgin female who has never been with males so you don't have that problem. As far as your question I honestly don't know but some species do have the ability for the new sperm to fight the preexisting sperm and you get a mixture of the 2 males when fry are released.

Hm okay....I guess I just gotta try and make sure the cobra guppy stays alive and hopefully in the next 3 months have the virgin females ready

If you wait it out eventually, if the cobra is the only male they would become all cobra offspring after she runs out of the other sperm so with the wait it plan you wouldn't need a different female. If you did get a virgin female you could start right away since the cobras would be the only sperm it was even in contact with.

After the female gives birth there is a short window where a new male can breed with her and replace the sperm she used previously (which is why males obsessively follow a female, getting ready to pop, around because she is secreting hormones that indicate soon).
