40 Gallon Tank Can I use this stand?

I was online looking for cheap effective racks and stumbled upon a video using 2x4s and 8x8x16 cinder blocks to make racks and having huge success. However i noticed that they were using tanks with rims on the bottom. My question is, would a stand like this work with my rimless 36x16x16 Glass tank or will it crack because of it having no bottom rim?

It would depends on the weight of your tank. But the short answer is yes. Just be sure that the cinder blocks are close enough that there is NO flex in the 2x4s

If you turn the 2x4s on the upright it will be a lot better

There is only one store where im from that carry something similar. They sell 20x30 foam boards they don't state the thickness my question is can i stack the pieces of foam board if it isn't thick enough and would i be able to put them side to side since they aren't as long as my tank?
It would depend on what type of foam it is. The insulation panels are really stiff. Something softer would probably work, but if it's a soft foam, I would cut it .5 to 1 inch larger on each side and end to be sure the tank is completely supported. I would also think .5 inch thickness would work and if you could hot glue the pieces together, it would be better than just pushing them together.

I would say with foam under the whole of the tank it would be fine.
