It would help a little, but I don't think plants have enough bacteria on them to give you an instant cycle.

IMO it would help, the more the better. But it won't be quite as effective. Plants also help consume the ammonia, nitrites and nitrates in your tank, helping to speed up the cycling a bit!

Yes, they will help bring in some bacteria but the filter is where it needs to heavily colonize....never hurts to add plants.
