Can I Use Full Spectrum Leds To Grow Coral

Braydenmm22

HI I was wondering if I could use full spectrum LEDs to grow coral. The kind of full spectrum lights I have in mind are pink and blue and are meant to grow plants. Has anyone had any experience with this kind of lighting?

It's going to depend on the light penetration and the kind of corals more than likely. Bumping this for you!

Is the light just pink and blue or is there white as well? I have white and blue lights that are good for zoas, xenia, but I'm not sure about the rest.

It's just pink and blue no white

I'd check with a store that sells just saltwater stuff...You might get a better answer from them

I think I'm going to just get 2 50/50 compact bulbs

I still haven't decided on my final lighting requirement yet, I've already got some zoas and a feather duster and some fish....I'm being VERY patient lol

I'm already growing zoas but my lighting is only 5000k they're doing pretty good though I have a couple polyps grow each week
